Viefly 688 Metal Helicopter Gyro

Viefly 688 Metal Helicopter Gyro

Newly freed in 2010, in this ultra micro helicopter, it includes a 4-in-1 infrared controller (Gyro + ESC + Mixer + Receiver). This makes the palm size helicopter have outstanding performance in hovering. 3 Channels for flying it, competent to move in 6 Directions. The full metal body frame protects the heli from crash, it won’t break easily. This would be outstanding for those who are new to R/C toys! With highly sensible gyroscope, flies quietly and stably. Throttle may be locked at any position, this allows the mini boy stay in the air with both your hands free! Be ware that this toy helicopter is designed for those who are over 8 years old. That’s suitable from kids to adults!

3played for 20 minutes and then low propeller stop working
By D. Ibanez
has cool specs and looks in truth nice but after 20 minutes a few crashes and all of a sudden the bottom propellor stop working. perhaps i got a faulty one or perhaps it just crashed wrong. would have like to see this helicopter still in action but have no choice but to return. :(

4Still early in testing but seems at the top of the class
By Bargain Finder
I’ve only flown this one a couple of times, but it seems very good. And I say this after having tried 7 other models. I like Viefly models because they are very durable, and do not tend to break easily…being that, they are lighter plastic units, but also because they seem to be built well. And they are easy to control. But they (like closely all plastic heli’s) tend to shoot-up and hit the ceiling when introductory launched after a ‘full charge’ because they are so light weight. So, I decisive to undertake this metal Viefly, and so far so good. It does tend to hit the ceiling ‘sometimes’ upon take-off (just after a full charge), so I have to be just a little pre-emptive in de-throttling the controller just after a full power take-off. But if I’m just a little careful, I may keep out of the way of that…which I cannot always stay clear from on most plastic models. And this unit’s flight characteristics are nice, with good straight forward motion, and only a minimum need to adjust the trim from time to time. But I’ll report back later as I test it more, and let you recognise regarding durability and flight duration time. The best part is that it isn’t OVER-RESPONSIVE (such as when given a slight command to turn it’s nose ‘a bit left’… it doesn’t go ‘way too far’ left, etc. like on other models…some even commence turning in a finish counterclockwise circle when given just a little command to turn it is nose ‘left’). By the way, the webpage doesn’t mention this, but it does come with a USB connector cord. As I said, I’ll report back more as I fly it more, but so far it is one of the most stable, lasting units I’ve flown. I’ve had another one which was even more stable than this one, but that one was so poorly constructed, the gear that turns the lower rotor fell off the motor shaft with just one bump into my cushioend couch arm. So, I’d take durability over more or less better flight characteristics anyday. At least, the unit will ‘last’ more than one day.
