Battery holder too small. and more
By Jeff Holton
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R224B4ZAVS1KKS The battery holder for this queer carbon fiber landing gear (mSR) is too small. I didn’t even get a probability put it on the heli before it broke. Once you get it through the original set of bars it butts up versus the second set, and wont concede you to push it any further. Without the battery pushed all the way in the center of gravity is off, and the battery would come out easy on a hard landing. I’m bummed, Ive wanted this percentage for a while but wasn’t even capable to get it in the air before it broke. I tried to glue it back but it didn’t help. No matter what, it is too little to fit an E-Flight battery, the two you get with the heli. I have 5 but none worked. I sent Hobby Zone an email telling them what happened.
I tried to buy a ordinary holder from my local sparetime activity store but it doesn’t work, the way it connects to the landing gear is different.
This video didn’t come out very good. I guess my camera does not like to shoot something close to the lense even though it was shot in 720p. Will update when i listen from them.
Update: Well i glued the battery holder on to where it would have worked. But this thing is so fragile. The tiny screw that holds one side of the battery holder to the rest of the landing gear has stripped out, so I guess ill glue that too. I also have 1 of the skids cracked, so now 1/3 of one side of the landing gear is just hanging on by threads. I haven’t crashed at all, hard or soft. Its only been in the air 15-20 mins and it is fundamentally junk at this point.
Tried contacting “Hobby Zone” multiple times now. Never may get in touch with them for the duration of their business hours. I have sent various emails to them and have got 1 returned email plainly saying call this 888 number, so thats no help since they are either never there or don’t pick up.
My suggestion: Don’t waste your money, but if you just have to have it, get it from an individual other than Hobby Zone. I don’t see this being changed again at least until I get back from an overseas trip that will last 4 months. Wish I didn’t buy this thing. And wish I had more time before i leave to mess with this thing.

One of the best upgrades for the MSR
By Chills
I was hesitant to get this. I thought it would be a trendy item that had little gain. I nevertheless have already gone through 4 of the general plastic landing skids and was tired of replacing them. I’m sorry the other guy had such problems. The only thing I may think of is he’s pulling the batteries hot of the charger so they are a bit swollen when he’s putting them in. I will say it is a bit of a tighter fit but I like it. I grant just when it comes to anybody to fly my mSR to learn on it and have fun and get introduced to RC helicopters. My batteries applied to fall out all the time after little crashes and stuff, now they don’t anymore. That’s just the little gain. The biggest gain is the front pin is so much more inviolable I’ve had it for a while now and not had it brake. Not only is that a big selling point for me, there’s more. If it did break you may buy just the supports and battery mount for [...] bucks. That’s less then the normal landing gear. Also the post are universal so they may be used for front or back, so I may replace the front one that brakes perpetually on the stock model. I actually think this is one of the best upgrades for the mSR. And like I said I loan it out to anyone, persons who have never flown a thing. It’s still together solid. I do see how the carbon could break but mine hasn’t. If you get a lot of broken landing skids, I strongly commend you try it. A couple of notes also. The look is a matter of choice I like it. The gear likewise has less bounce in it so the heli lands more solid and doesn’t have the bounce like the stock one did. It also sits lower to the ground when on the skids, which I think is awesome. Hope this is helpful to some.

This is version 1 and it’s terrible, perchance V2 is better
By En P. Junction
I believe this is version 1 of microheli’s carbon landing gear. The manufacture’s website shows a version 2 which may rectify a heap of of this model’s defects. I agree with everything another reviewer said. e-flite batteries DO NOT FIT in the battery holder. The holder has three little bumps on the percentage that accepts the battery, presumably to hold the battery in place. But they’re sized wrong. Only after filing them down did the battery fit, and then it was still gorgeous tight. The landing gear is positioned perilously close to the servo’s gears. While this gear is surely much more inviolable than the stock gear (and heavier) be prepared to change it.
