2Spend a little extra and buy a better heli.
By Driveachevy
I purchased this helicopter as something to play with when I didn’t have time to take my RC plane down to the field. I just wanted something inexpensive and simple to fly. I was happy to see that the construction is as advertised and is largely made out of lightweight metal. The only parts on the heli that are not made of metal are the skids, the rotor blades and linkages (I’ll get to that in a second), the gears, and the front of the body. I was not happy nonetheless with the cheap feel of the transmitter or controller. It reminds me of those cheap controllers you get with RC cars that you may buy as a kid from your favored toy store. Mine had a broken antenna but I was competent to fix it. I likewise was not happy with the owners manual. It’s the worst English translation I have ever seen. The manual is altogether useless.

The firstborn flight went well and I was genuinely impressed by the helicopter. It flew stable and was very easy to control. I was a little disappointed when it comes to how fast the battery drained, but that is to be expected I guess with an RC heli with 3 motors keeping it in the air. The second flight was an exclusively dissimilar story. The grip set for the top rotor broke isolated in mid air causing the helicopter to come crashing down. I was going to return the heli, but after reading in regards to how picky the distributor may be with returns I decisive to keep it and undertake to make it better. I ended up modifying the grip set with metal pins so I would not have the same problem.

After repairing the helicopter I had no troubles flying it for a few days. After when it comes to 10 flights I started hearing clicking noises from the motor. Just as every one else had described, one of my main gears started to strip. The gear never altogether stripped out on me, but the heli itself only pulled through two more flights. While flying it at a height of when it comes to 25 feet the helicopter decisive to drop to the ground without warning breaking rather a few parts on impact. I think it might have been a receiver glitch, but the helicopter is too damaged to be competent to tell for sure.

Overall I am very discontented with this helicopter. It worked for less than a week before it became permanently grounded. It was actually never mistreated and I feel it will have to have lasted much longer. If you want an RC helicopter, consider spending the extra cash and go to a sideline store and buy a better helicopter. If you just want to get into RC, buy a plane.

3Buyer Beware
By Brad
As the other reviewer said, don’t waste your cash on this one. The main gear teeth strip very easily. I got to fly my helicopter a total of two times before they stripped away to a state where the helicopter is no longer unusable. :( I was genuinely excessively affected emotionally to get this but now I’m more disappointed than anything.

UPDATE : OK, after a good deal of days of searching around looking for elements for this thing and coming up empty handed, I’ve had a good deal of success. Many of the parts, including the gear that every one has troubles with, are compatible sufficient with the Syma S006 to get you up and flying again. I have changed my review accordingly.

3Gears
By Sam
The teeth on the Gears that turn the rotor blades seem to break off rather easily. It is great if you never crash it and all the teeth stay on the gears. Because once one of the gears starts to chip, it is not going to last much longer. The motor will in the end chip the rest of them off until it is no longer flyable.
