Syma SO22 ROCKS!

Okay, I purchased this helicopter on a whim. I’m presently serving in Iraq with the US Army and each once and a while (rarely), we get a lot of down time. My battle buddy has a few littler RC helicopters which she flies each once and while. I had one of those before but they just go up and down, perhaps a few circles but that’s it. I wanted a RC helicopter because I love flying, and I have when it comes to an hour down time before I go to bed. So I got the Chinook because it’s a Chinook. 2 blades are better than one, right? It came in and I was astonished by how big it was because I thought it was going to be small. I was likewise concerned with the fact that the rotors are loose (no worries, this is suppose to be like that, it flies fine with the rotors like that.) The instruction booklet is poorly translated but it is not that complicated. I in the long run took out for the firstborn time and it was AMAZING! I didn’t have to set the trim or anything! It flew like a dream and everyone was impressed with it! Even my battle buddy who says it is ten times better than hers! It only takes a minute to get use to. I was even capable to get it to land and fly to my hand. It has great control and it last longer than those littler helos (we tested that out…). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS. This wouldn’t be so outstanding for somebody younger but it is definately a great buy. I’m highly impressed! Once I get home from my deployment I plan to buy a few more just in case they stop developing these things. Hands down coolest rc helo for the price. Oh yea, did I mention it’s durable? IT IS!

A Lot of Fun

This thing is well worth the price, it is TONS of fun. Everyone wants to fly it. It’s great to set-up landing areas and scenarios and stuff. My buddy shot at it with a Nerf gun (anti-aircraft) and it was awesome. You may knock it out of control by shooting the rotors in the right place. But it doesn’t break it.
It has some severe lift; blows a crazy downwind, magazines and newsprints will fly around. It’ll carry a weight of two spoons underneath it, impressive I think. It will take off real quick if you go full throttle. And it’s breathtakingly precise, I may regularly land it in when it comes to a 2×2 foot square.
It’s also very durable, I have beat the crap out of it running into stuff, and it fell from almost power line height outside and didn’t break.
It marks things a little bit if you run into the walls, but rarely. If you have pure white walls you might see a few black marks, but I haven’t seen much.
Charges in with regards to 30 minutes, flies for regarding 10 minutes.
Only gripes are that the charger it comes with is beauteous cheap (I got a better Li-Po charger after that one broke) and that the controller on occasion loses contact. But that’s rare.

This thing is a ton o fun!

Really fantastic toy for the price. I have had numerous of those mini RC helicopters before, and frankly for twice the price of one of those this heli is well worth the price. The steering takes a little getting applied to, think of it as a hover craft rather than a car on wheels. You get the hang of it in no time, and a charge seems to last a good 10-15 minutes. Plus, and this is a big plus, there are no batteries to replace receive in the controller. he helicopter itself charges from a wall outlet. The craft is a pretty good size, around 16″ long I would guess. The lights on the craft are awesome, it has 2 on either engine in the back, and a red and green one under it. I have been buzzing this thing around my house ever since Christmas, it is to much fun. The only thing I would say to perspective buyers is the steering is not dead on precise but it is tons better than the cheap RC copters out there, and is very easy to use.
