Wanna Make My Own Clothes

About the AuthorIn her early years, on a boundless quest to never be bored again, Clea Hantman picked up the craft bug. Thrift stores are now her home away from home; the faint scent of glue, her perfume. For Clea, crafting isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life! She lives this way in sunny San Diego with her hunky hubby, her brilliant daughter, and her movie-star dog. This is her sixth book. Visit Clea at www.superclea.com.

Azadeh Houshyar owes her love of making things to her craft-a-holic mom who blessed her with a Hello Kitty sewing box at age 8 3/4. The box is long gone, but her trustable pink and silver Hello Kitty scissors are still a favored crafting tool. An illustrator and designer, Azadeh lives in New York City with her other cherished cutting tools, an X-Acto knife and a superstyling Rotatrim.

4Break Out Your Creativity!

Are you crafty? Handy with a hammer? Have an itch to re-design your room into a space that you’d genuinely like to hang out in? Clea Hantman’s got your number – and all the elaborated instructions you could want in I Wanna Re-Do My Room.

And the best part? All the projects in this book – from new curtains to new furniture for your cool new habitat – may be finished by teens on the cheap. How may your mom complain when your room makeover comes so inexpensively?

Heavily illustrated by Azadeh Houshyar with fun and kitschy drawings, the projects are for the most part fast and easy. Each one lists all the constituents necessitated so you may be prepared before you start out and a lot of of them may be accomplished with items you have lying around the house (for instance, there’s the pillow made out of a t-shirt).

All of the projects are fun, heavy on style, and may be on an individual basis modified to capture your own style and spirit. Now, why wasn’t this out when I was a teen? Shoot – scratch that – I may use numerous of the ideas now!

Recommended for teens looking to spice up their environs in an lowcost and fun way. Targeted mainly toward girls, boys could even find a great deal of projects they might like to do (they just might not publicize it). Suitable for teens and tweens 9 or 10 and up, but very applicable likewise to college students on a budget (and with bland dorm rooms).
