5Really, actually love them!
By C. Masters
I got these for my son when he was 18-months and he LOVES these! He has already memorized both the First Words and closely all of the Shapes & Colors cards.

I went out and purchased ALL FOUR packs. They are all great!

Each card includes a huge color photograph of the item plus galore sort of tactile addition – such as hair on the cat, bumpy tires on the tractor, sticky areas on the jelly. Plus, on the back of each card there are “talking points” and suggestions for questions to ask and things to do. It also has five dissimilar translations for the object, so you may aid your little one learn other languages.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the cards are super strong and will protest bending and folding if your baby plays with them. My baby has at least once dumped them on the floor and danced on them – and they as good as new!

They are now part of our nightly routine. We “do cards” right before we read a book or two each night.

I would say that First Words are good for 12 mo+, and Shapes & Colors is good for 18+ (there are a good deal of more difficult cards, such as a picture of a glittery purse shaped like a heart – my son still has no idea what that is!). Animals is a little more progressed (just because it includes a lot of more obscure animals) and Counting is the most modern (but it is still astounding and teaches outstanding conceptions – for example, there is a picture of a jar of marbles and another card with an empty jar, so the baby may compare “many marbles” versus “no marbles”).

Buy these! And, I hope the company makes even more of them (would love to see more themed word cards, such as “food,” “bathtime,” “bedtime,” “outdoors,” etc.) I will buy them all!

5Great for little hands
By J. Cire
My 15 month old daughter loves these cards. We have the finish set of original words, animals, numbers, colors, etc. She pulls them out every day and looks at them. She brings them to me so that I may instruct her what the picture is telling her. They are sturdy beneath toddler feet, and in toddler hands. A wondrous product from the great publisher of DK. I commend them over all other cards for this age group (and believe me I looked for an alternative).

5Great for learning and fun
By pauliesaurus
My daughter loves these cards. She is 14 months and may recognize the dissimilar items when I show her the cards. She in particular is fascinated by the “jelly” card, as it is sticky to touch. She likes to play with them, taking them out of the box, putting them back in, and stacking them. They come with suggestions for games to play with them as the child grows older. They are sturdy, and I suppose that we’ll be using them for a long time.
