know what you are getting (deluxe vs original)

BE AWARE THAT NOT ALL COLORS ARE THE “DELUXE” SLIPCOVER. Product title states “My Brest Friend Deluxe Slipcover.” Blue/white and (maybe) Green Starburst are NOT deluxe, but “original” slipcovers. They will both fit the deluxe PILLOW, but they are NOT “deluxe” SLIPCOVERS.
Here’s the divergence amidst the deluxe and the initial SLIPCOVERS (not pillows.)
The Deluxe cover that in the first place came with my DELUXE pillow uses a plusher (“fluffy”) material and uses a velcro attachment to adjust the fit of the pillow. Looser fit on my deluxe pillow.
The “original” blue/white cover that I received is a plain cotton material, not plushy at all. It does not have velcro. You may adjust the fit by lengthening/shortening the strap on the buckle (think of how you adjust the straps on a backpack.) It fits snugger on my pillow.
You may see these divergences if you thoroughly examine the product pictures closely. As far as I may tell from the my brest friend website, my brest friend deluxe pillows have two bumps on it, and come with said deluxe covers, and originals are altogether flat, with the non-plushy primary covers. This explains the divergence in fit. The deluxe are in all likelihood looser to accommodate the bumps on the deluxe pillow.
Product title leads one to believe all these colors are the same product. They are not. I thought I was getting the deluxe cover. Amazon must make this divergence clear.
The only way one may tell is by looking closely at the product picture as one clicks on the dissimilar colors available. Also, when it is added to the cart, the product name (in the cart) changes to “My Brest Friend Slipcover” (note the absence of the word “DELUXE.”)
I am disappointed because the blue/white is grouped with the deluxe slipcovers and cost $17, and I purchased it thinking it was the deluxe cover but it was not. But if you search for “my brest friend slipcovers” (no deluxe) you find numerous other designs beneath a distinguished product listing, for $14.50, as of this writing. Boo amazon! I would have returned it but didn’t want to go through the rigmarole.

Helped me with nursing a preemie

I prefer the primary Brest Friend covers, but I’m not crazy when it comes to the velcro strap. I love this nursing pillow overall, and it helps with positioning. I’m nursing a 3 month old and still use this pillow at home each day. I was ready to quit nursing because positioning my preemie was so difficult, but I saw this in the hospital “nursing shop” and made my husband buy it for me. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! It’s far better than the Boppy pillow and doesn’t roll the baby or move from my waist. There is not one thing bad I have to say regarding the Brest Friend… skip the frequent Boppy and get this! It rescued my nursing experience.

LOVE IT!

I have both the older version of the breast friend cover (velcro only attachment) and purchased this deluxe one for use with my second child. It is way better than the basi because of the clip closure. (This way, you don’t arouse your child by attempting to take off the pillow if they’ve fallen asleep.) My breast friend is the best nursing pillow BY FAR and as a mother of two wholly breast-fed children, I LOVE it!
As a chiropractor, I highly commend the lumbar aid it provides Mom for the duration of nursing, and allows for the best latch positioning for the baby due to the flat top of the pillow. (Especially when they are infants.) Other nursing pillows have rounded tops which strength the baby to roll either towards or away from you. Not ideal. I have purchased this for friends and family who are expecting and tell my people who are in need of medical care when it comes to it as well.
