5Great gift idea for the big brother or sister!
By Julie Peterson
Oh how I wish MAKING ME: The Pregnancy Activity Book for My Big Brother or Sister! by Julie B. Carr was available when I was pregnant with my little guy. My daughter was almost 5 years old (just a few days shy) when I delivered him, and she would have loved this action book. Actually, I would have loved it too and I am not sure who would have had more fun with it!

5Great for 6 year old
By Dadto2
We have been using this book for our six year old son to implicate him in his mother’s pregnancy. Each day he gets the book and together we see how the baby is developing. It’s written as if the baby is talking to my son. Then the baby gives him a affiliated action to do. For instance, one day the baby says, “I weigh 1 pound, 5 ounces (595 grams). Sweet! I’m as heavy as an official NBA basketball!” The action is “See how a heap of times you may dribble a basketball without stopping. I bet you’re actually good at it!” The book likewise includes 4 colored pencils and a 24″ measuring tape. Each month, the baby says how long he/she is and the sibling looks on the tape to see the actual size or may find something in the house that is the same length. There are related math questions, journal-type questions, coloring, drawing, and other types of activenesses (ex. get a slice of cheese to feel how heavy I am).

Definitely not for a toddler, but splendid for the older sibling. My son feels involved and is looking forward to the most recent arrival.

This is based on Countdown to My Birth: A day by day account from your baby’s point of view which is designed for the mom-to-be.
