This is a finelooking good compilation, exceptionally for persons who don’t know much regarding the hard rock/heavy metal musical scene. However, there are a great deal of things in regards to this compilation that I don’t understand. Let’s look at all the tracks together, shall we?
Disc One-1) Nice intro. It excellently outlines the goal and aim of the compilation and sets a nice, macho, aggressive scene for the music. (I believe it’s a quote from the vocalist of Monster Magnet.)
2) I’m not a huge fan of Kid Rock, and unquestionably not of this song. This track fails to kick off the album with a bang. I would have chosen “Bawitdaba”, myself, but I guess they thought it would be cute to open and close this CD with two songs starting with “I Am The…”
3) Very great song by Monster magnet with superior guitar playing and vocals….but I thought this was a hard rock CD? This sounds like substitute or country. “Look to Your Orb for the Warning” would be a better choice.
4) Here we go! Very deafening industrial rock song from PM5K.
5) Another heavy song, but I think it would be better at home on Disc 2.
6) Another exceedingly heavy bit of industrial metal, but shouldn’t this be on disc 2?
7) Very good, entertaining, and heavy song. Right at home on this CD.
See 7.
9) This song is finelooking heavy for P.O.D., but I think they ought to have put “Follow Me” on, instead. This one kind of lacks in the realm of intensity; it’s kind of slow and dragging.
10) Very intense hard rock song.
11) What the hell did they do to this song?! The only initial bit of the song is the drumming and vocals. All the guitar riffs have been deleted and substituted with a heap of weird keyboard stuff! And completely new bass lines have been added in, with the vocals slowed down and distorted. It’s a good remix, but I thought this album was supposed to showcase LOUD music.
12) The music is great, but the prejudiced, homophobic lyrics turned me off.
13) Very originative song with bits of jazz thrown in to supplement the hard rock.
14) VERY hardcore song with bits of world music thown in. But shouldn’t it be on disc 2?
15) This song starts off soft but gets hardcore regarding half way through. This is a great, dramatic song with capable melodies and lyrics. I can’t figure out why they keep putting all these heavy metal bands on the hard rock CD.
16) Extremely deafening song by the kings of power metal. This is one of my favored songs! It genuinely closes this album with a bang, but it must have been on disc 2.
Disc 2-1) Not again! If the guitar riffs have been deleted, why is this called the “Lethal Dose Extreme Guitar Remix?” Isn’t a rap song a beauteous odd way to get started off a heavy metal compilation? Besides, why put LB on disc 2, they ought to be on disc 1 with the other hard rock bands.
2) I guess this is where the guitar riffs from “Counterfeit” and “Edgecrusher” ended up. This is a outstanding remix of an other than as supposed or expected intermediate song.
3) Another good, heavy song. The only Coal Chamber song I ever liked.
4) A good heavy AND melodic song.
5) This song turned me on to Slipknot. VERY intense but could we lay off the cussing?
6) This is a nice, hardcore song but I would have done “Push It” to actually showcase Static-X’s heavy metal abilities.
7) A cool curveball that sends you back to the ’80s, when metal was king and bands actually cared when it comes to songwriting. Great solos by Dave Mustaine!
A finelooking soft song for a heavy metal CD, but otherwise, it’s good. A lot of stuff ends up happening at the end of this song.
9) This starts out kind of heavy, but gets actually soft. I don’t have any idea why this is on the heavy metal CD.
10) A heavy song with good singing. *sigh*…if only _The Height of Callousness_ had come out before this compilation was made.
11) An exceedingly hardcore song from one of the only Christian metal bands that cusses(!)
12) Another hardcore song that sounds a bit retro, like from the late ’80s.
13) A heavy song from Motorhead. The vocals leave something to be desired, but at least the riffs have a great deal of melody.
14) I haven’t listened to this one lately, but it’s pretty darn hardcore.
15) One of the only heavy metal songs that I describe as “beautiful.”
So overall, not bad. This compilation is billed as being “The hardest, heaviest CD of all time!” Well, not really. Pick up something by Testament of S.O.D. and then we’ll see who’s heavier. I don’t understand why there are so numerous pop songs on here, (I am the Bullgod, Edgecrusher, Black, From this Day, Spit it Out, Living Dead Girl, Counterfeit, Detached) though I guess they’re attempting to appeal to as numerous people as possible. I likewise don’t get why so a great deal of of the remixes made the songs LESS hardcore, and most of the songs seemed to be the band’s 2nd heaviest song, rather than their 1st. It needs work, but it’s finelooking good with a mix of Christian and secular music, rap/alternative/industrial/stoner/power/death/’80s rock and metal, live versions, mixes, edits, etc. This CD is often times in my player.

I’m listening to it right now and this cd has everything, not only for metal heads, but for persons who love to rock. This cd made me get Puya’s cd and Machine Head’s cd. Since this says volume one, I’m looking for a volume number 2. That will be great. This has everything from new bands like Staind, Static-X, P.O.D., and older stuff like Megadeath. It even has outstanding stuff from Sepultura AND Soulfly.
