4Same size as bucky balls. Not altogether the same though.
By Eric S. Olstad
I have had the BuckyBalls brand magnets for a while. They’re a lot of fun and creative, but they’re pricey for a little office toy. I saw these Magnet Balls and decisive to give them a shot because they’re closely half the price of BuckyBalls. Having read galore reviews for other BuckyBalls challengers I was concerned that these would be differently sized than BuckyBalls. Well these are precisely the same as BuckyBalls as far as aspect goes. The only divergence so far is that they don’t seem as powerful as buckyballs. It’s very subtle, but evident after having played with BuckyBalls for so long. They also seem a tiny bit lighter in weight. Perhaps that’s why they’re cheaper. There may be less magnetic material in each ball.

Despite them not being rather as great as buckyballs, they’re still gorgeous great. If you’ve never played with BuckyBalls, you in all probability wouldn’t know the difference. You may make all the same shapes, and it’s a decent value.

3A mixed bag
By Richard Kaszeta
I own assorted sets of the competing product, Bucky Balls.

There aren’t as good as Bucky Balls, seeming to have regarding half the strength. The Bucky Balls you may effortlessly form in a giant loop without them breaking, these hardly hold in longer strands. I was hoping to use these as a cheap source of alternate balls for my Bucky Ball sets, but not such luck. It’s evident when I substitute them in.

And this is a vendor issue more than the item itself, but when shipped, these came loose in the shipping box with a pamphlet and a little carrying bag.

On the plus side, the box had 224 balls in it, not 216. So at least this set has a heap of extras.

5Very addictive!
By Chris O
The product’s description says “The most addicting toy underneath the sun,” and I’d have to agree with that. I in the first place purchased this for my son who had conveyed interest in magnets, but I think I’m keeping this one for myself and ordering another. Fun, frustrating, very interesting, and perfective for a continuous fiddler/fidgeter like me.

Since I’ve never owned any of the (more expensive) competing brands, I can’t speak as to how well they match up with each other but coming into this blind, I may say I’m very happy with my purchase(s). They seem strong, durable, and yes, much lighter than I expected them to be. Also, be conscious that the free tin trumpeted in the description is a bit goofy…it’s unquestionably a cheapy but works for it is intended purpose.
