Webkinz American Idol #3

A few years ago, there was a Beanie Baby craze that swept the nation. People would display massive collections of these little bears that could be valued at the price of a little car. Collectors scoured web sites in hopes of finding that elusive beanie baby to add to a collection. Kids would receive beanie babies as presents only to watch them be placed high on a shelf never to be touched. Some thought the beanie baby crazy would never end.

Along came the Tamagotchis or virtual pets. These things became the latest kids crazy. Parents throughout the region could be seen with their child’s tamagotchis sitting on the corner of a desk or copy machine at work. Schools quickly banned these virtual pets from coming onto school grounds. Therefore, kids recruited the parents in helping to keep these tiny virtual pets alive.

Fast forward to today and the latest kid craze the webkinz. This is a stuffed animal creature that is a cross amongst the beanie baby and the tamagotchis. The intermediate cost for a webkinz is $10 to $15. However, with the rising popularity a rise in price is sure to follow. The beautiful feature of a webkinz is the code provided at buy that allows for an identical online pet to be created.

Upon activation of the online code,the user is provided with $2,000 virtual dollars in which to spend on the pet. This includes purchasing pet beds, toys, feed and cleaning supplies. Additional cash may be earned through obtaining a virtual job, playing online games or taking surveys. The webkinz internet site insists this is not online gambling as no cash cash ever changes hands. As with real pets, these virtual pets get hungry and get sick at times. If left to go hungry or be sick for too long, the pet merely passes away.

There have been arguments over whether or not the webkinz are an instructional toy or just the latest kid fad. When parents take an active role in the online pet care with a child, the instructional gains are endless. Here a child will learn with regards to all that goes into caring for a pet in the real world.

THIS is the best of American Idol!!!

For me the best portion of American Idol is watching the horrid audtions at the commence of each season. These poor souls in truth believe they have what it takes to make it to the big time. The sad portion is they REALLY believe they may make it, occasionally they have family members who give hope or courage to them. Some say that these have to be fakes, humans can’t be this bad. Well they may be, they can’t be that good of actors!!
This DVD has numerous of the best worst performances from the basi four seasons. You get William Hung, you get that guy singing “Like A Virgin”, you get my personal favorite, Mary Roach. You’ve got to credit these humans for at least having the guts to get up there and try.
Now for the part that’s not so outstanding with regards to this set. Many of the songs have been cut, I would guess because they couldn’t get the rights to them. By cutting out the songs, you don’t genuinely get to see why they are being so harshly judged. So the judges come off as being rude for no real reason.
Aside from that, this DVD is great fun. But again how some of us would have the guts to get up there ourselves??

This is the “Worst of American Idol” and they’ve surely put it together. If you just can’t help looking at those crazy, wacky humans who come on to this show (and yes, I can’t help), then you’ll love this DVD.
