Inviting or not inviting children to your Wedding Ceremony and/or Reception is a decision that is veritably up to the Bride and Groom. This article is for couples who choose to have children at the Reception.

Children are unpredictable; this is one of their greatest Charms, but also one of the hazards of inviting them. It’s lovely to include all of the special humans from your life in your Wedding, even if they are a good deal of of the smallest humans you know. It will be a outstanding way to let them know how particular to you they are, and give them a sense of what a big, fancy, grown-up particular event is like. It may end up being too much for them to handle though, so consider that they may need a time-out from the festivities as well.

Some ideas for keeping the children occupied for the duration of your Reception:

Have a distinguished room (or at least a discerned area) for the kids- Arrange for a baby-sitter to keep a close eye on the kiddos. You don’t want them disrupting the more formal moments, but more importantly, you don’t want them to find a way to injure themselves or others (playing with a steak knife or tripping a waitress carrying a heavy tray would put a damper on things.) The kids don’t have to be sequestered to this area all night, just be sure each child does have numerous form of adult supervision at all times.

Have activenesses for the children- Look for a Wedding-themed coloring and action book, or use any frequent action book. Provide crayons, paper, perchance paper placemats, for the children. This will help keep them pleasantly occupied for the duration of meal time, and in particular for the duration of toasts which might not be competent to capture their interest.

Have a tea party- If you are competent to have a discerned room for the children and a sitter or two, have a tea party theme for them. They’re already all dressed up, and with juice and cookies this may be a more relaxed but still special event they may participate in. You could also have it themed like the Mad Hatter and March Hare’s tea party from Alice in Wonderland to make it extra fun.

Hire a magician- If you may afford it, hire a magician to come and do numerous simple tricks or make balloon animals for the kids for an hour or two.

Special Bridal Visit- Make sure for the duration of your rounds the Bride and Groom take a minute or two to spend in the kids room. This will both show these little guys that they valued guest and also give you a break from the formality of the event- a nice little breather, and perchance a prospect to sneak a kiss in the hallway.

Keep story books on hand- Make sure there are a heap of books a sitter or parent may read quietly to a group of children.

Goody bags for the kids- Give the kids a bag when they arrive that has treats and little activenesses to keep them happy. Stay away from anything noisy or potentially destructive- you don’t want a yo-yo demolishing your wedding cake!

Teddy Bear Toss- If you’re doing a bouquet and garter toss for the adults, and you’ll have a lot of children, you might want to consider doing something for them. Toss a soft white teddy bear, or a lot of other plushy (A Webkinz would be rather popular), for the kids to catch. They’ll have fun and be awfully cute to watch.

Kid’s Dance- Get all the kids onto the dance floor with the Bridal Couple or the whole Bridal Party. What great pictures you’ll have!Things to keep in mind-

Not all parents will be comfortable leaving their children with a baby-sitter they don’t know. Not every one might think children are as cute as you (or their parents) think they are. Including or not including children is a huge decision that brings up a lot of emotion for a great deal of people. Make the decision for yourself and stick to it, because you aren’t going to be competent to please everybody.

5My daughter’s favored game
By A. Henry
This tea party game was the bestloved Christmas present this year. My daughter just turned 3 and loves this game. We may not go through a day without playing it assorted times. The table cloth is so cute and “girly”. The pieces are very lasting and well coated to keep away from harm from a little spill. One time through the game, and my daughter had the rules down pat. (She still has a heap of trouble with Chutes and Ladders and Candy Land etc., but picked this game up with no disturb at all.) Another outstanding perk of the game is that my 3 year old may set the game up and pick it up all by herself!
I would highly commend this game for any young girl, specially if she is even more or less prissy. It is so cute, even I couldn’t wait to play!

5All the fun of a tea party without the mess!
By Jennifer E. McKinney
We LOVE our tea party game! The real fabric tablecloth is a nice touch, and is creased deeply sufficient to be folded the same way when it is returned to the box. The game pieces are sturdy sufficient for a great deal of pretend play, and the box becomes a tea tray for the remaining teatime items. Each plate, cup, sandwich, fruit, and dessert looks dissimilar from one another, so rather of skipping a turn when a child already has an item they may to trade it for a like item just to keep things interesting. The game lasts just long sufficient to stay fun. An added bonus at our house is that it not only eschews licensed characters like Dora or Barbie– it even has art by widely known and esteemed children’s book illustrator Lizzy Rockwell!

5Fun with daughters
By C. Mcquillan
I gave this to my 4 and 6 year-old daughters last Christmas. It’s now our bestloved game. There isn’t any skill involved, just luck, but it’s still a large total of fun. It does instruct them forbearance because you have to build your place setting and gather, or lose, feed items gradually as you land on respective elements of the spinner. Sometimes we pretend we’re having a tea party too!
